Description
JOIN US ☠️ for a weekend of Brazilian Zouk leader's training with Gui Prada!
The infamous program that has been held all over the USA is now being held in Boston!
----------------------------------------------------------
In practically every Brazilian Zouk community in the US we observe two patterns:
1 - more followers than leaders in socials; and
2 - followers developing faster than leaders.
The last events I've been I can see this reality repeating itself again and again. Even though all leaders were dancing, there was still a considerable amount of followers waiting to dance. And even though the event sold an even number of tickets for leaders and followers, we still had more followers on the dance floor.
This is due to a variety of reasons and one of them is: it takes longer for leaders to acquire confidence and actually go out to dance. As a primary leader myself, it took me a little while to feel confident on the dance floor and invite people to dance. In that process, I had the help of many followers that would give me their input on how I felt. That helped me realize that ' .
This training has been done in DC, Denver, Austin, New York, Phoenix, and San Jose already and the results have been incredible. The idea is to contribute and provide leaders with an opportunity to grow faster and consistently, receiving immediate feedback about what is important for social dancing and experiencing different styles and levels of following.
✅
This is not a training designed for newcomers.
In order to take full advantage of our time together, it's necessary to know the following Brazilian Zouk fundamentals:
Basics (on the Spot, and Linear)
Viradinha
Lateral
Send-Away
Vira-Lateral (Viradinha into Lateral)
The Leaders Intensive is a training based on the idea of horizontal learning. That means that on top of the instructions given by Gui, the feedback received from the followers will be your most important source of learning.
For that reason, this training is built on the principles of having multiple rotations, therefore this is not a training to do with only one partner.
We are going to go together for (10 , 4 2 ) total on Saturday and Sunday, December 17 and 18, in accordance with the schedule and curriculum below.
There will also be a mini social the night before the training starts, to welcome all students to the event.

Lunch Break - 1 hour
2 - 3:30pm - Second Workshop - Continuing the review and smoothing things out
The second workshop will continue our review and change the focus to smooth them out. We are going to go over the techniques to make your fundamentals feel good and we will count on the feedback of the followers to let us know if we are making progress.
Snack Break - 30 minutes
4 - 5:30pm - Third Workshop - Body Movements
Here we are going to laser focus on making our body movements calm and continuous. We will be focusing on undulations and isolations, leading them from our own bodies and in accordance to the music. Again this whole process will be done with the followers feedback.
5:30 - 6:30 - Practica
2️⃣ -
11 - 1pm - Fourth workshop - Mindset, Adaptation and the 'Follow the follow principle'
For this part I will present the mindset that has helped me develop my leading in Brazilian over the years. Within the Mindset we will talk about something extremely important, the ability and willingness to adapt.
Lunch Break - 1 hour
2 - 3:30pm - Fifth Workshop - Touch and physical connection
This workshop will focus on the details of touch. We are going to talk about hands, arms, forearms, fingers, shoulders, chest and all the other parts of our bodies that we tend to tense up or not pay much attention to. We then will focus on close embrace and work on our pillowness.
4 - 5:30pm - Last Workshop - Pressure points (aka applying pressure in the points of connection) and energy management
We are going to finish talking about managing pressure points, creating consistent points of connection and providing support to the followers.
5:30 - 6:30 - Practica
Training like this has never been done before. It will be new for you and for me. Our entire focus will be developing our skills for a pleasant social dancing experience and we will count on the constant and truthful feedback of the followers to help us get there.
